( Broken Rock - Pronunciation \'bro-k?n\ \r?k\ –noun
1: a large mass of stone consolidated or unconsolidated, assembled in masses violently separated into parts :
2: shattered rock as to make a passable route : damaged or altered by breaking made weak or infirmed : subdued completely : crushed )
Broken Rock represents chipping away the self imposed weight of self doubt, hang ups, past hurts, and baggage we have claimed and have chained ourselves to. With bent back and bowed head we struggle along dragging this rock, living in its shadow that darkens every aspect of our life. With each new day it grows heavier and more imposing until it becomes unbearable and we are absolutely crushed by its weight, weak from the struggle, subdued by the pain and finally broken.
Like Christ, who was crushed, broken and died, removed the rock from the tomb which chained him to this world and was born to a new life. A life free from the shadows and darkness. We must also be crushed, broken and dead to the world to unshackle us from our rock, to remove it from our path.
The process, at times, is an endless chipping away that lightens your burden slightly each day. At other times the process is a violent shattering of the barrier as you are being dragged through the rubble to emerge bloodied but not bowed, stronger and whole with the warmth of the sun of a new day on your face.
With the birth of Broken Rock Studios I have begun this process on one of my rocks and in the end I hope to walk through the rubble with a new life in freedom from the weight I carry because...
He does not lead His children around hardship, but leads them straight through hardship. But He leads. - Otto Dibelius
